cabreco Posted January 7, 2012 #1 Posted January 7, 2012 Going to put the resistor to fix the battery warning light issue. I bought bothe the 1k & the 2.2K ohm. Which one should I try first? I'm trying to do as few steps as possible. Thanks Andy
dingy Posted January 7, 2012 #2 Posted January 7, 2012 Bigger is better, try the 2.2k and the 1k in series first, then drop back to only 2.2k, then try the 1K alone, last resort is the two in parallel, this would be the least resistance. Stop at the first one to work. Just hook up with clip leads or wires twisted together to try. Gary
cabreco Posted January 7, 2012 Author #3 Posted January 7, 2012 Appreciate it Gary. I figured i wasn't alone in this. The PO "fixed" this problem by putting a piece of electrical tape over the warning light. A little butcher Bob job & I'm too much of a stickler to deal with the tape. Andy
Shorty Posted January 7, 2012 #4 Posted January 7, 2012 Why not just drill a hole in the top of the battery and stick the probe down into it? I got my battery from Walmart and the hole was too small, I drilled it out bigger and it works just fine.

RandyA The new Lithium batteries are over $200 for a Venture, almost got one when I was installing VMax air box due to size. Ended up mounting gel cell on its side in where coils were. RandyA It's an Odyssey Drycell battery. It was actually around $140. Anyway, Thanks to everyone for the help (posts & PMs) I replaced the sensor with a 2.2K resistor & soldered it to the accessory fuse clip. 1st shot the light went out after the system check! Now is I do have an issue with another system the warning light will work! I'm down to my last 3 tasks...the plastic work, gas odor & replacing a leaking slave cylinder. The manual is weak on slave replacement procedure but I'm sure I'll find a write up here somewhere. Thanks again, you guy are making this fix very easy for me. I'll be touring before you know it! bongobobny Posted January 8, 2012 #10 Posted January 8, 2012 The Odessey battery is an excellent choice but over the years they have gone up in price whereas the DEKA costs less and they seem to actually have a tad more power to them. I've had my Odessey for about five years now and still is as good as new...
