Guest ronkena Posted October 19, 2006 #1 Posted October 19, 2006 Anyone have any experience with Sears brand Battery maintainer? I have one and in the last month have had to refill the battery twice. It seems to be charging, when in fact the battery is dead. New battery in May so that is not the problem. I'm inclined to think that I have a faulty charger and it is giving too much of a charge and boiling the water out of the battery. Any ideas before I head back to Sears?
Freebird Posted October 19, 2006 #2 Posted October 19, 2006 That is NOT good but I'm sure you know that already. I have the Battery Tender and it has never overcharged the battery. If it is a good battery and the charger is boiling the water out then there is certainly something wrong with it. Hopefully you haven't already destroyed the battery.
Yammer Dan Posted October 19, 2006 #3 Posted October 19, 2006 That is my thoughts. Time to head for Sears. I have a cheap one from Harbor Freight that works great. I think they are on sale now for about $6.00 Have left mine on for long periods during winter with no problems.
Guest ronkena Posted October 21, 2006 #4 Posted October 21, 2006 Thanks guys. Headed back to Sears, and Harbor Freight is just down the road from Sears.
