"But when it come to cool, I thought cost was no object.

If the cost of cool were an issue, there would be no such thing as CHROME or other add ons that serve no purpose other than cool.

So who is going to be the first from this forum to do it????"

42mm TB's off a 2004 R1 above a V-Boost-System and under a Vmax Air Box might be the best to start with :whistling::whistling::whistling::whistling:

Would that even fit on a 1st gen??:mo money::mo money:

The woman who did the efi on her ven somehow reused the original air box, but cut out her side panels, remove the lower body work, and hooked up a mount to those funky air intakes up front. .

Yes it would. But the overall Height of the Assembly will be a Problem, and for the Vmax-Airbox, the Battery has to become smaller or relocated.

I have a half-fabbed Set of TB's lying in a box. Connections to the V-Boost and Airbox is done as well as the Collars for the Vacuum Connections of the Diaphragm Chambers. Fuel Rail is planned through, but not fabricated. Throttle Linkage between left and right Side is planned, Parts are there. Throttle Cable Connection has to be planned.

Unfortunately, no Time at all to tinker with it.

Here is the battery solution. I put battery where the coils & TCI used to be. Standard coils where replaced with coil over plug units from an R1. TCI is in radio pocket.

This was done to allow room for the larger VMax air box.

Battery is an AGM.

With the battery out of the way, the air box could now be shortened in height to allow the throttle body to be installed.

I like that idea, replacing the coils with COP ones. Dang it, I'm spending MUCH more on cycle things than when I wasn't a member here. :mo money: And I'm getting more ideas every day! Curse you, VRO!

The R1 COP's are low Resistance .... 1,19 to 1.61 Ohm at the primary. This won't work with a 1Gen TCI, but Dingy is sporting a Ignitech-Box, which can adress these COP's without going up in Smoke.
