Ron,

I personally have never heard of oil leaking from an AIS, thats not to say it's not so. I know this may seem like a dumb question, but are you sure it's not leaking from somewhere else and finding it's way to that AIS box and leaking off of it? As far as I know, there is no oil involved with that system, strictly emissions and vacuum.

I agree with ya'll. BUT its not drippin just a film. Only on the L/rear side of the box an the top of the L/rear carb..mabe a blow-by or something??? have 86 k Dark-side pull a trailer and 2 up , it's driven every day to and from work 10 miles (no snow or rain) keep in a carport. washed often,Just can't think where it could be coming from..Got it apart, all looks good just a wet film on the ASI box an carb????

Talk to me...Help

that's not the AIS box, that's the intake plenum on top of the carbs and it's normal to have a small amount of oil on the left rear carb because of the blow by tube being routed back to the plenum.

The AIS "box" is underneath the bike.

This is a typical concern. I just rmoved my fuel tank to remove the carbs to clean and do a valve adjustment and found oil residue covered in the RR area. The tubes do not seal perfectly on the uppper air box and will tend to "swet" or "seep". Not to worry. Maybe a good time to remove carbs and do your valve adjustment now and so a good cleaning.

Excess oil in the air box is normally associated with over filled crank case.

Where have you been keeping the oil level at?

Who does your oil changes, are yo sure they are not over filling the crank case?

The oil level should just at or a hair under the line on the window when the bike is stood up straight.
