wes0778 Posted December 15, 2011 #26 Posted December 15, 2011 Hey get a Lawnboy, oil goes in with the gas, comes out with the exhaust.... :rasberry:
darthandy Posted December 15, 2011 Author #27 Posted December 15, 2011 I find it difficult to conceive of a 6.5hp motor only holding 7oz of oil. Then again, my Suzuki DR200se only takes 1 quart of engine oil. Oops...my bad. I misread the chart. It's .528 litres, about 16 ounces. I usually just keep adding small amounts till the dipstick shows full anyway. I don't entirely trust some of the owner manual measurements. Andy

Andy There should be a drain plug on the bottom of the engine like they said that a 3/8 drive extention fits into. It may be covered up by the deck of the mower. I'm a tech superviser for DR Power and our trimmer mowers have the same thing. We suggest they just tip the mower over and drain it throught the dipstick/filltube. Our trimmer engines hold about 20 oz of oil. All the B&S engines are made in china these days except for some of the larger engines.
SC89Venture Posted December 15, 2011 #29 Posted December 15, 2011 Not all. Briggs has a huge plant in Statesboro, GA making lawn mower engines.

Oh yeah! More then once, commercial 60 inch with bagger, that sucker weighed in at close to 1000lbs! It's not too bad though if you open the bypass valves on the pumps.
