jburrell Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 I have asked her and she "is not sure". Her biggest worry is how would she share her books back and forth with her sister who is the same way with reading. She thinks they will have to get the same type so they can share them. Where her sister lives they do not have high speed just dial up internet so she would have my wife loading it for her anyway. ACutally, the kindkle loasd bookd from the whispernet network so no network is needed. You just search for books I believe. YOu can share 5 devices to your Amazon account so all five can download the books which actually stay in the account but copy to your kindle. My wife had the first one and broke it but now I am considering a tablet so she can do other things. Check out the whispernet downloads at amazon. Kindle fire is new but not quite as loaded and Nook color or tablet which allows borrowing books and adding a SIM card for more space. Just my 2c
SilvrT Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 There is one MAJOR advantage of an actual book over an eBook .... the actual book will never become obsolete in a year LOL Danged technology ... it's no wonder we have no money for beer anymore!!!
Guest tx2sturgis Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 (edited) Just FYI. The Amazon Kindle Fire may really be just a few smoldering embers now. http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/story/2011-12-12/mark-smith-kindle-fire-complaints/51839620/1 update: I'm hearing and seeing reports that the kindle fire is doing well in terms of number of units sold. I guess an Amazon cash register is just what people wanted. Edited December 19, 2011 by tx2sturgis
