Panjandrum Posted December 2, 2011 #1 Posted December 2, 2011 December 1st, and I found an excuse to ride. I was glad to have the heated vest, but did not need the heated gloves. A balmy 6 C (44F). I love living here! (I would put a smiley in here, but I don't seem to be able to.)
Rick Haywood Posted December 2, 2011 #2 Posted December 2, 2011 December 1st and I got in about 100 miles today here in central Illinois. Looks like maybe another ride tomrrow is in order also
SilvrT Posted December 2, 2011 #4 Posted December 2, 2011 Forecast for Sat & Sun is for sunny weather with highs around 5 or 6 celcius so I might just have to go for a wee ride somewhere ... gotta do it on Sat tho as we have company coming over Sunday.
SilvrT Posted December 2, 2011 #5 Posted December 2, 2011 Its T-shirt Ridin weather down here. T-shirt weather here too .... underneath 3 other layers of shirts and then the heated vest and the padded, lined riding jacket....
chabicheka Posted December 2, 2011 #6 Posted December 2, 2011 i rode today too...we had a high of 6 celcious here in toronto. was quite comfortable in a long sleeve shirt with leather jacket on and long johns, of course. have heated grips.. that helped a bit, i guess. some of my friends have put away their bikes since beginning of november. i have been riding almost daily except when it rains. i think there may still be a couple of riding days coming up, before i have to put the bike away for the winter.
Zfrebird4 Posted December 2, 2011 #7 Posted December 2, 2011 ... but time committments limited my miles. Cook in 30's today and until latter part of next week; then out again. I firmly believe we are safer riders in winter when we pick carefully our riding days for pavement safety, PLUS ride in full gear (which I use almost all year round here in CO). Come see our great state, let me know and we'll hitch a few together. JackZ:fingers-crossed-emo And just waiting for the next ride! Just like all of us, Huh? Jz
67mini67 Posted December 2, 2011 #8 Posted December 2, 2011 I also got to ride today as well as yesterday. At o'dark 40 it was a balmy 22 deg but no precip in the forecast so no de-ice on the roads.
kevin-vic-b.c. Posted December 2, 2011 #10 Posted December 2, 2011 I just came home from a coffee ride... 4 riders out anyway... not bad for a cool December night.

rickardracing Posted December 2, 2011 #14 Posted December 2, 2011 It has already snowed here and salt has been put down. I would never ride my cherished ride on roads that have been salted. I would never buy a used bike that had been ran in the winter on salted roads either.

Appears you were still shaking:rotf:
Yammer Dan Posted December 2, 2011 #16 Posted December 2, 2011 I was planning a little ride today. This bug I got thinks otherwise.
tcoop Posted December 2, 2011 #17 Posted December 2, 2011 I was not able to ride yesterday...winds in the 75 to 102 mph range. But I rode this morning to work it was a balmy 28* F. After riding all winter last year with out a faring, riding the Venture is almost like riding in a car. No cold blast to the face and my fingers don't go numb.

Snaggletooth Posted December 3, 2011 #23 Posted December 3, 2011 It was 15 degrees F when I left for work yesterday morning. Before I was ready to head home it had started up with some light flurries. Got some strange looks on the way home in the afternoon. It was high 20's today and not too bad out. But, looking at the forecast for Saturday.....might be the end of my season here. It's supposed to start raining around 1 AM and then turn to snow through Sunday. Once they start with the liquid salt they are using the bike stays in the garage. Been a good run this year. Started riding mid March and it's December 2nd today. Not bad for a Nebraska riding season. Eight months around here is pretty decent. Not to mention the gas money I saved not driving the car. Only put about 200 miles on it this summer and that was only in the last few weeks. Mike
