need new starter

First of all I just want to say hey! second I was wondering where would be the cheapest place to find a starter for a 84 venture royale? Mine is totally fried! had a low battery and fried the armature trying to start it. Oops!

I would replace your starter with one out of a 2nd generation venture or later model VMax. The ones out of the 2nd Gen Venture bolt right in and spin the engine faster. Pinwall Cycle has them all the time around $60. They are an eBay vendor.

I bought this one from rareelectrical on E-bay. They advertised it as a 2 brush Vmax, but when I opened it up it turned out to be a 4 brush.
