GolfVenture Posted November 25, 2011 #1 Posted November 25, 2011 Any one have any opinions on this Garmin 1390. I was especially interested in the blue tooth feature. Radio Shack has them for 129.99 LMT. Not sure if it is a refurbished one or not. Also anyone purchased one of these GN032 + WPCS2 Bike Mount & Case, Garmin Nuvi 1390T 1690 from ebay. It is not water proof, but was interested in its capabilities of working the touchscreen through the plastic face case?
GAWildKat Posted November 25, 2011 #2 Posted November 25, 2011 I know nothing about it myself, however my husband would since he works at Radioshack. However he's working the Black Friday sales today (went in @ 5:00est) And he won't be home til about 10pm. Wish I could be more help.
GAWildKat Posted November 25, 2011 #3 Posted November 25, 2011 Hubby says:Being a capacitive touch there shouldn't be any trouble with using a plastic cover with the device (he texted me from work, yes, he really is that bored this morning)

Programing looks a lot like my c50 Streetpilot only with a few more buttons and whistles. Should be a good one... On the mount make sure you have enough room on the round part of the bar. The clamp looks like it might be a little too wide. 1stGens aren't very generous with mounting area in front of the brake or clutch master.... http://www8.garmin.com/buzz/demos/1390interactive/
GolfVenture Posted November 25, 2011 Author #5 Posted November 25, 2011 Thanks for the info. Just got back from Radio Shack with the Garmin 1390. I'll check for room on my handle bar. Has anyone made a bar to go across the handle bar using the handle bar bolts?
reddevilmedic Posted November 25, 2011 #6 Posted November 25, 2011 thats a great question. sounds like a new project, not like im not thinking about enough of them already. i was considering trying to adapt a wunderlich bar bag, just for things like cell, wallet, etc.
