footsie Posted November 23, 2011 #1 Posted November 23, 2011 I have either went off the deep end, jumped into midlife crisis. Or maybe just gone plain crazy, but at 53 I have decided that I want a boss hoss, not a 502 or anything like that just a plain 350 boss hoss. When you look at them from a sensible point of view they are completely unrealistic over kill, there is absolutely no need for a 350 hp motorcycle, much 700 hp one. But I sure do want one. and then there is the price, I will need to take up donations!!!!!!!!!! Oh well guess I will do with out. who else want one gregg
GAWildKat Posted November 23, 2011 #2 Posted November 23, 2011 Not me, I sat on one at a local show, my legs couldn't touch the ground I'll settle with my caprice for those kind of power rushes....May Angels watch y'all who ride those things.
MiCarl Posted November 23, 2011 #3 Posted November 23, 2011 You do know that it doesn't come with the girl that is always in the pictures, right?
bongobobny Posted November 23, 2011 #4 Posted November 23, 2011 It's the only Harley I would be interested in owning! I agree with you, the small block 350 is plenty fast enough! On a side note I've always found it disturbing to call a 350 or more so the 400 a small block...
Kirby Posted November 23, 2011 #5 Posted November 23, 2011 Aw Greg, just go out and buy you a new VMAX. That'll get you through this!
mgosset1 Posted November 23, 2011 #6 Posted November 23, 2011 I'm the new member here with the Vmax.....trust me it will get you thru the crisis...lol....But to be serious, I have always wanted one of them Boss Hoss Bikes...I am 57 and if one comes my way it could get had....would have to find a hell of a deal on one thou....Love the look....
Freebird Posted November 23, 2011 #7 Posted November 23, 2011 Mike, not to highjack the thread but ... well...maybe I am. Anyway, I was trying to remember what bike I sold you way back when. It had to be over 20 years ago. Was it a Virago or the V45 Honda? If it was a Virago, was it the 750 or the 920?
etcswjoe Posted November 23, 2011 #8 Posted November 23, 2011 I rode one a while back and it was hard getting use to the automatic transmission. They do a real good job balancing them I don't think I would like to do too many twistys on it.
Scooter Bob Posted November 23, 2011 #9 Posted November 23, 2011 Maybe this prototype would cost a little less... Later, Scooter Bob
etcswjoe Posted November 23, 2011 #10 Posted November 23, 2011 Maybe this prototype would cost a little less... Later, Scooter Bob Flathead? Is this yours?
mgosset1 Posted November 23, 2011 #11 Posted November 23, 2011 Don I bought both them bikes from you....lol...I bought the V45, 750 Virago and the Yamaha XS 1100 from you.....may be more if I think on it a little....did I also buy that yamaha 400 thumper dirt bike from you also...??
Freebird Posted November 23, 2011 #12 Posted November 23, 2011 LOL...I forget what a good customer you were. I knew you bought a lot of knives and swords from me though. I did sell a Yamaha Thumper to somebody...maybe it was you. It was a 500 though.
kevin-vic-b.c. Posted November 23, 2011 #13 Posted November 23, 2011 Nothing wrong with a few extra horses.... my cousin enjoys them with a tank of nitro strapped on to his Harley to add to the fun:
Scooter Bob Posted November 23, 2011 #14 Posted November 23, 2011 Flathead? Is this yours? No, it's at a liquidator store\sculpture place north of Oshkosh, WI Later, Scooter Bob
Pegasus1300 Posted November 23, 2011 #15 Posted November 23, 2011 I have always wanted one of these. I think they the coolest thing around.
Neshobanakni Posted November 23, 2011 #16 Posted November 23, 2011 I avoided a midlife crisis this morning. Stopped myself from buying a 2nd Gen MR2. It was a close call!
mgosset1 Posted November 23, 2011 #17 Posted November 23, 2011 yep it was a 500 thumper, the only bike i ever flipped...lol....or wrecked period.....Don all them knives I bought from you, I have only one that I kept....the Carl Schlieper Eye Brand Stainless that had 86 on the blade....with the nicest bone handle around...I don't carry it; just keep it in a box......I only carry auto's nowdays....lol........I think you need to give me some kind of loyal customer rebate or something....lol...If your still selling knives, I'm still buying...auto's only... Yea you hijacked this thread...
ragtop69gs Posted November 23, 2011 #18 Posted November 23, 2011 Maybe this prototype would cost a little less... Later, Scooter Bob I think I could reach the ground flat footed on that thing!
RandyR Posted November 23, 2011 #19 Posted November 23, 2011 Someone start a sword collecting thread...
Snaggletooth Posted November 23, 2011 #20 Posted November 23, 2011 There are few of the Hoss's in my area. I see one with a LONG front end on it about every week and a couple of trikes now and then. The guy on the bike has a big grin on his face on the road but in the parking lots he looks a bit tense. It seems to be a bit to handle in the turns. But given the chance to have one for a day........I'd be all over that!!! Mike
Gary N. Posted November 23, 2011 #21 Posted November 23, 2011 We have friends at our winter home in Texas who have a couple of them. His is a 502 and hers is a 350 trike. They'll pass anything but a gas station.
GAWildKat Posted November 24, 2011 #22 Posted November 24, 2011 Randy, Dont tempt me, I collect swords.....
Freebird Posted November 24, 2011 #23 Posted November 24, 2011 Way back then...about 20 through 30 years ago...I used to sell knives and swords on the side. Just sort of a hobby. I sold a lot of them though...probably thousands over the years. I had wholesale accounts with all the major brands..Case, Buck, Schrade, Puma, Parker, Gerber and a lot of very fine German brands that only folks into knives would recognize but some of the more common were Fight'n Rooster, Hen and Rooster and a lot of others. It was a fun. Most of the swords that I sold were the Japanese Ninja type swords. Some just decorative but some with real edges. Mike, believe it or not, I only have about 4 left myself. After I quit TU and started traveling so much, I just didn't have the time to mess with it any longer. My own collection was probably close to 1,000 knives at one time but I eventually sold and gave them all away. Same with m gun collection. I bought, sold and traded all the time but I had about 70 guns at one point. I now have 4.
scotty Posted November 24, 2011 #24 Posted November 24, 2011 I just read an article on mid life crises and it sounds like a hoot! So I have penciled in next week to organize a list of all the impulsive things I should be doing.
TATERS Posted November 24, 2011 #25 Posted November 24, 2011 Just do what I do... go and buy a pair of shoes...lol
