As of noon today the doctors are saying one of his lungs isn't functioning at all and will probably have to be removed. His other lung is full of pus [infection] they are gonna keep him sedated for at least a week and keep him on a breathing machine so his body can get stronger. They have been pumping fluid from his stomach cause they don't want to take a chance on him aspirating with the tube down his throat. They will start feeding through a tube tomorrow. Still pumping him full of antibiotics. Hopefully in a week or so he'll back to agrivating everybody again and stirring up the pot like usual. As I get info I'll post it.Thanks to all who've been praying.

This is the latest news I have. Drs say John has severe case of pneumonia and probably has had it for 3 or 4 months. Somehow his regular DR. who is an old fart who spends more time as a patient than a DR. didnt catch it. They dont have cultures back yet. But they are still pumping lots of antibiotics in him. His lungs collapsed last night. they got that taken care of but the Dr said it dont look good. They dont think he'll ever recover, but they're gonna keep trying. They say they're taking baby steps. One step at a time. Still keeping him heavily sedated. Hoping that his body will start to gain a little strength and fight back on its own. He's resting and hopefully recovering. Blood pressure is still low 97 over 53 . They're giving meds to help bring it up but so far its holding around that same point. He's one sick puppy but its up to the man upstairs more than anything right now. Lots of folks praying for him, and I sincerely appreciate every one.

Thanks, Don

Just wanted to pass on what I know for those who are interested. Drs. have take John off blood pressure meds. His blood pressure is high enough they took him off. They've pulled a lot of crap out of his lungs, he still sounds congested, so there's still a long way to go. They tell me neither of his lungs are in very good condition "paper thin".The left lung hasn't been working at all and was collapsed. Nurse said latest x-rays show its inflated slightly. Hopefully as they pull the crap out of his lungs they will have more room for air and will re-inflate. He's starting to look a little better, getting some color back. But has now started to experience swelling in his hands and feet. They say he's retaining fluid from just laying there. So they're now giving him diuretics to help with water retention. They really don't know how much longer they"ll keep him sedated. I suppose until he kicks the infection. Overall he's doing better but aint out the woods yet. He's got a long way to go to get over all this. Drs say they're taking baby steps, but as long as he's improving they aren't changing anything. Once he has kicked the infection they'll re-asses where they are and what to do next. He has been a sick puppy for a long time. I guess its gonna take a long time to get better. I don't care how long it takes or what they have to do. I just want him back on his feet enjoying life.

Biscuit probably not the news everyone is hoping for, but good news. We will continue to think of him and his family and close friends as you continue on this Journey. Thanks for the updates.

Drs called a conference today, Johns is doing worse. They're getting blood from his lungs. They wanted the family to make a decision. They say they're just prolonging the inevitable. Even if by some miracle he can pull through this, he'll have to be on a ventilator unable to breathe on his own. He'd more than likely be a vegetable. Calls went out and the decision has been made to pull the plug tomorrow. Gonna wait as long as possible but will be tomorrow evening sometime. I wanted to thank you all for your prayers. Look on the bright side he'll be with Jeanie again

Thats terrible news, its never easy when you hear of someone having serious health issues, and theres heavy decisions to be made. My thoughts are with John, his family, and all his friends.

Thanks for letting us know.

Having been in those decision making shoes its not a decision taken lightly. May John rest in peace with the Father with Jeanie at his side. Prayers for all and thanks for letting us know.
