GolfVenture Posted November 8, 2011 #1 Posted November 8, 2011 I'm installing a set of white, 5 inch long LEDs on the rear, for the purpose of getting dangerously approaching vehicles attention to a momentary switch? I'm not sure how legal this is but I would like the two lights to alternate back and forth at a much faster rate than a normal turn signal. Does anyone know of such a gadget?
BoomerCPO Posted November 8, 2011 #2 Posted November 8, 2011 Check out the small LED strobes at Galls.com:cool10: Boomer....who sez they flash really bright and come in several colors too.
saddlebum Posted November 8, 2011 #3 Posted November 8, 2011 I have often thought a rear mounted paint ball gun, with auto rapid fire http://www.mapforums.com/images/smilies/weapons/36w.gif might be not a bad idea.http://www.mapforums.com/images/smilies/set1_b/taz.gif
GolfVenture Posted November 8, 2011 Author #4 Posted November 8, 2011 One could just mount one. It should draw some attention. Or may be carry a gallon of paint that looks like it could easly fall off. Keep a lot of cagers off your rear.
GaryZ Posted November 8, 2011 #5 Posted November 8, 2011 I had a motorcycle safety instructor suggest pea-sized gravel thrown over the shoulder . . . No fingerprints
Guest Slab_Ryder Posted November 8, 2011 #6 Posted November 8, 2011 Individually wrapped Lifesavers work great?
Snaggletooth Posted November 8, 2011 #7 Posted November 8, 2011 Marbles, I've lost a few marbles over the years. Well, yeah those to but....... I thought those lil bags on the Venture were the coolest thing. The perfect place for more marbles.
playboy Posted November 9, 2011 #9 Posted November 9, 2011 I have a flasher that does just that looks just like and emergency flasher but with 3 prongs one is for power the other two hook up one for each light will make them flash alternately or wig wag. Not sure where i got it but here is the brand and all the numbers on it. TRIDON SAE J1054 made in Canada electronic signal flasher EL 13a 12v max 25 amps I have used it to alternate head lights on my pickup so I know its heavy enough think I paid about 18 bucks for it but that was 15 years ago. With this flasher all you need to do is install a switch for the power supply. Galls may have them.
playboy Posted November 9, 2011 #10 Posted November 9, 2011 tridon.com el 13a is the part number hope this helps.
