Aussie Annie Posted November 4, 2011 #1 Posted November 4, 2011 Was never one for facebook, and didn't bother with it at all. Then B2Mom & B2Dad's granddaughter asked me if I would "friend" her from Australia. So I joined, and the bonus has been to "talk" to some VR members as well Was just talking to Gary & Mary Nantais, and to GAWildkat :clap2:......... NICE
SilvrT Posted November 4, 2011 #2 Posted November 4, 2011 FB is good in some ways but you need to learn how to control who can see what otherwise you can soon hate it.
Marcarl Posted November 4, 2011 #4 Posted November 4, 2011 And don't post anything on there that might be even remotely called a secret,,, because it will be public. This includes your age, weight, size, religion, boyfriends, you name it,,, it can all be used against you.
SilvrT Posted November 4, 2011 #5 Posted November 4, 2011 And don't post anything on there that might be even remotely called a secret,,, because it will be public. Hummingbird Posted November 4, 2011 #8 Posted November 4, 2011 FB is obviously a great venue - millions upon millions have fallen into the err I mean millions upon millions have jioned or signed up or whatever it is ones does to be able to see/post/read on it. Guess I'll never know what makes it special - but that's just me.
Squidley Posted November 5, 2011 #9 Posted November 5, 2011 I just deleted my profile last month, I hate that the "Kid" that runs it decides he can change it whenever his panties are in a bunch. I will never belong to another one of the "Social Networking" sites

bongobobny Posted November 5, 2011 #13 Posted November 5, 2011 Yah! I hardly use FB but was on tonite and sent out a bunch of friend requests, many are members here. Anyone that wants to friend me is welcome. I can always refuse or delete if the need comes but I don't see any reason not to...

Squidley Posted November 5, 2011 #15 Posted November 5, 2011 Naugh-T said isn't that what the Venture site is ?? Brad Perhaps for her it is, but the rest of us actually work on our bikes
Monty Posted November 5, 2011 #16 Posted November 5, 2011 I was against it for a long time. I decided to try it out last January, and I ended up forming a group for all of the Plankowners(original crew) of a ship that I served on. I haven't spoke to most of those guys for over 22 years. Out of a crew of 335, I have brought together about 250 of them. We now have our first reunion scheduled for next summer, on the anniversary of our ships' commissioning. Facebook can be used for good or bad. I don't do reposts, or play games or apps, I just use it as another way to keep up with friends and family.
SC89Venture Posted November 5, 2011 #17 Posted November 5, 2011 I did not want one for a long time, then as my kids got married and moved away, simply put I miss the hell out of them. Facebook let's me keep in touch, just signed up this week.
