masterofyard Posted November 1, 2011 #1 Posted November 1, 2011 I am thinking of buying a 2002 midnight venture with 10,000 miles for $6400. Was curious to know if this is a good price and what I should look for.
Mike G in SC Posted November 1, 2011 #2 Posted November 1, 2011 I would look for one with more miles, it ain't broke in yet! Actually, those miles are very low. So, could still have original 10 year old tires on it. If so, you would want to replace them regardless of tread. Even if not original find out how long they've been on the bike. Same for oil (engine and rear), how long have they been in there (not miles, time)? As you are in NY (is the bike too?) the oil could have season wear without miles. As far as price for the year (and low miles), sounds good to me for that money,,,, if it's in decent shape. So offer $5800 and see where it goes. But, if you have ridden it and like it, don't hold out too much, else it will get sold.
masterofyard Posted November 1, 2011 Author #3 Posted November 1, 2011 yes it is in ny and thanks for the help. Ill keep you posted.
SilvrT Posted November 1, 2011 #4 Posted November 1, 2011 If it hasn't been done already, run a can of seafoam thru it. Chances are the carbs are gummed up and the fuel is crappy.
BoomerCPO Posted November 1, 2011 #5 Posted November 1, 2011 Check the saddlebags fer pygmies. Boomer....who sez he left a passel of the little runts up dere in dat Noo England area....
