Freebird Posted December 24, 2007 #1 Posted December 24, 2007 OK folks....I hope that most of you have received your guardian bells now. I still have a few left and just wanted to make sure that everybody has them that wanted them. I may try to put some of them on Ebay if you are all covered. I'm sure that the rest will sell quickly and it will probably help a few others find our site also. So, PLEASE don't buy them if you don't want them but just wanted to give you an opportunity before I list them.
Dano Posted December 24, 2007 #2 Posted December 24, 2007 Sorry Don, missed the first post, what is cost and shipping? Can you give them to yourself and they still work???? Dan
Freebird Posted December 24, 2007 Author #3 Posted December 24, 2007 See this thread for pricing and etc. As for giving it to yourself? Heck to me it's all in good fun. I'm not very superstitious. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=16373

Tartan Terror Posted December 24, 2007 #8 Posted December 24, 2007 Can we just list them in the Classifieds here? Why put them on eBay when they should just be for members here? Also we are getting new members everyday and Im sure many will want to buy them. If money is the case lets see if the members can give a donation so that the cost of the remaining isnt just out of your pocket.
Bummer Posted December 24, 2007 #9 Posted December 24, 2007 Sorry Don, missed the first post, what is cost and shipping? Can you give them to yourself and they still work???? DanDan, If you need a swap, holler. I bought extras for pretty much that purpose. I'm set up to swap one with Mariner Fan once warmer weather comes back. You're here in town, so a swap could be set up pretty easily. All that would take is a day with dry roads.
Dano Posted December 24, 2007 #10 Posted December 24, 2007 Sure thing, Bummer. According to what I've read(snicker, snicker) they don't work if you give it to yourself! (Don, just think of the pond monster!) We'll hook-up after I get mine. Thanks and Merry Christmas, Dan
Condor Posted December 24, 2007 #11 Posted December 24, 2007 OK, I gotta question on this gift thing. When two people get together and trade bells is this considered a swap or a gift? I would think a gift would be to give someone a bell unannounced and not expect one in return???
Black Owl Posted December 24, 2007 #12 Posted December 24, 2007 OK, I gotta question on this gift thing. When two people get together and trade bells is this considered a swap or a gift? I would think a gift would be to give someone a bell unannounced and not expect one in return??? So now you gotta get technical..............
Freebird Posted December 24, 2007 Author #13 Posted December 24, 2007 The price for two bells, including shipping to Canada, is $27.30. PayPal to dnelson@axcesswave.com Thanks
Bummer Posted December 24, 2007 #14 Posted December 24, 2007 OK, I gotta question on this gift thing. When two people get together and trade bells is this considered a swap or a gift? I would think a gift would be to give someone a bell unannounced and not expect one in return???I'm not actually superstitious enough to care. It's really just an excuse to get together and meet people. I'm happy to play along just for the entertainment value. Remember that by tradition the bell only protects you from mechanical glitches, which should be pretty easy on a Venture. Armando and his soul mates can still run you over anyway. I added horns and flashing lights to help ward off those particular gremlins.
Condor Posted December 24, 2007 #15 Posted December 24, 2007 I added horns and flashing lights to help ward off those particular gremlins. Did you trade with someone else, or were the lights just given to you?:rotf:
Bummer Posted December 24, 2007 #16 Posted December 24, 2007 Did you trade with someone else, or were the lights just given to you?:rotf:I bought those myself. I'm paranoid, not superstitious.
mraf Posted December 24, 2007 #17 Posted December 24, 2007 Question, being that it is a bell. Means that it does make a noise. Now, is it one of those {What the heck is that noise now?} kind of noise or do you never hear it {By that, I Mean never hear it}.
Bummer Posted December 24, 2007 #18 Posted December 24, 2007 Question, being that it is a bell. Means that it does make a noise. Now, is it one of those {What the heck is that noise now?} kind of noise or do you never hear it {By that, I Mean never hear it}. We have a sterling silver angel bell my mother gave me in the standard manner. (I got it, gave it to her, she wrapped it and gave it to me. She also gave my sister one for her V-Star 650.) It ding-a-linged nicely while I was playing with it, but I haven't heard it since I put it on the bike. I asked Irene, she hasn't noticed it either. It showed up nicely on our Dragon trophy photos by Killboy.
Condor Posted December 24, 2007 #19 Posted December 24, 2007 I bought those myself. I'm paranoid, not superstitious. Hmmmmm.... OK....
Wizard765 Posted December 27, 2007 #20 Posted December 27, 2007 Don: Have paypaled for 2 more dingalings. Gave the first 3 to friends with wings. tee hee and last one of the four to another friend with a 2nd gen. VERY nice bells. Bag is a nice touch Thanks again!! Wayne
86er Posted December 27, 2007 #21 Posted December 27, 2007 Question, being that it is a bell. Means that it does make a noise. Now, is it one of those {What the heck is that noise now?} kind of noise or do you never hear it {By that, I Mean never hear it}. A friend has one on the right floorboard of his Road Glide. It was on the bike when he got it. It hits the ground when he leans it to the right! You can hear it go ding-ding-ding if you are close to him. I call it his right turn indicator! Mine is on the front axle and I never hear it. Of course the radio is always on too. I fix a lot of noises that way.
