GolfVenture Posted October 28, 2011 #1 Posted October 28, 2011 I recently purchased a used Roto Cover. I took it all apart and cleaned it up nicely including all the electric contacts. Each side has 2 pushin light bulbs. When putting it back together I noticed that the light bulbs have some differences. I've included a picture of the light bulbs. One has a blue dot in the center and a blacker tip where it pushes into the socket. My question is, are the differences of any concerns as to which one goes into which socket. A 2nd picture is attached of the sockets. One of the sockets has an extra wire that I think is the ground.
Snaggletooth Posted October 28, 2011 #2 Posted October 28, 2011 Shouldn't make any difference with the standard 194 wedge bulbs. Will work either way. If you convert those to the LED's like I was talking about they are polarity specific. Only work one way.
cimmer Posted October 28, 2011 #3 Posted October 28, 2011 The difference maybe due to different manufactures of the bulbs. As long as they both are 194s I wouldnt worry. Rick F.
mbrood Posted October 28, 2011 #4 Posted October 28, 2011 Bulbs can be bought in different wattages (WalMart has several) but save yourself some grief and buy some amber LEDs from superbrightleds.com. The main reason is that the incandescents heat up and without proper ventilation the yellow cover will start to melt. Since there are NO replacement lenses... you would be very disappointed. So... be warned.
