I have the same brake & running light. Yours looks like the red background and mine is the clear lenses. Either one really makes a difference in the visibility. That is the major issue I have with the Venture is the lack of lighting for rear end visibility. This solves the problem as far as I'm concerned.:clap2:

For the size of the bike, I cannot believe that Yamaha put no more lights in the back than what is on the 650.

Hey Yamaha! How about integrated lights across the trunk?

Hey what model is that? I want one!!! Have been thinking about what to install back there to improve the sad lighting situation on Crickett. Did not like some of the little LED things.......I like this one!!!:thumbsup:

Question about the clear lens...are the bulbs red, so when activated they emit a red light? Or when activated do they emit bright white lights?

You know Guys,

As much as I like Allen's products from DiamondR, the cleanest best looking extra lights for the rear of a RSV or RSTD is made by Harley. They provide both an extra set of running lights but also extra brake lights since they have dual element bulbs.

I usually cut the end off the lead and wire them up with a relay for both the running and brake lights. You can tap into the tail/turn signal wiring/connector just behind the battery, where the blue wire is for the running light and the yellow is the brake light.

There seems to be two of these Harley light kits #68230-97A and #68230-88B where you can find them at your local dealer or

probably for a little less. Either one will work where the 88B retails for $154.95 and the 97A for $169.95.

Hope this helps,

Rick

I purchased the clear one.......looks better on the midnight, and has a neat chrome trim ring(more chrome!!!) The actual lights when they light up are red, and quite bright...much better than any I have seen previously.

Why would I want my RSV to look like a Harley?

-replace the brake bulb with a Custom Dynamics LED Board for V-Star/Road Star Item: 9011-10 for an LED tail light running and brake

-install a Custom Dynamics Dual LED License Plate Frame Classic Chrome Standard Item #: 02028 that also works as running and brake lights

-install LED Flashing Motorcycle Brake Lights ELECTRO PODS one on each side of the tail lens they continuously flash when brakes are applied

-replace the rear turn signal assembly with original front making them running lights as well as turn signals

All of this without changing the look of the bike and not icreasing the draw on the charging system.

Now I have all the lights I want and kept the look of my loved Venture not a Harley.
