friesman Posted October 25, 2011 #1 Posted October 25, 2011 when I was checking out a couple of the skywatching sites that I am a member of they were remarking how bright the northern lights were tonight. There were reports from Southern BC to Ontario and even a sighting of red lights in Ohio. If your sky is clear go have a look, it might be worth it! Brian
ragtop69gs Posted October 25, 2011 #2 Posted October 25, 2011 Can't see them here, too much light pollution from the big city .
friesman Posted October 25, 2011 Author #3 Posted October 25, 2011 One of the fellows I know took this pic last night around 9pm in Soth Western Saskatchewan close to Swift Current.
pickinfred Posted October 25, 2011 #4 Posted October 25, 2011 One of the fellows I know took this pic last night around 9pm in Soth Western Saskatchewan close to Swift Current. Brings back memories of fishing northern Ontario some 30 years ago......wait I'm not that old......
ragtop69gs Posted October 25, 2011 #5 Posted October 25, 2011 I remember being up in Wawa back in the 60's and seeing the waves of color washing across the skies, it was truly an awesome sight that I'd love to see again .
Flyinfool Posted October 25, 2011 #6 Posted October 25, 2011 Sure, and I just spent a long weekend in the UP of MI (which is way up north to me) and I did go out every night to look for lights, except for the night that it was pouring rain, and only saw LOTS of stars and a few meteors.
Naked Rider Posted October 25, 2011 #7 Posted October 25, 2011 i live in south east missouri and i could see them OMG i have never seen them before. CNN is reporting that they were seen far south as AL, MS and GA all we could see was the red but it was still nice.
ragtop69gs Posted October 25, 2011 #9 Posted October 25, 2011 Step out from behind that mountain that's blocking your view. I can't see them here in Florida.
Guest tx2sturgis Posted October 25, 2011 #10 Posted October 25, 2011 We got our OWN lights down here: Coors Light Miller Light Bud Light And hopefully, the brightest light of them all: The TEXAS RANGERS! I particularly enjoy the first one listed with the last one listed!
Mike G in SC Posted October 25, 2011 #11 Posted October 25, 2011 I can't see them here in Florida. Try a step ladder,,, not sure how tall. Maybe 8' maybe 38,000'.
kevin-vic-b.c. Posted October 26, 2011 #12 Posted October 26, 2011 I am hoping my son Alex is finding Estevan Sask as enjoyable as the picture you posted B. I know he has found out that his hoodie is not as warm as he thought it was. He has been well spoiled out here in the west all his life. Enjoying your climatic updates. Kevin
