rstacy Posted October 24, 2011 #1 Posted October 24, 2011 It looks like the backrest is easy to remove for the times that I have a passenger on the bike. Is that correct? A couple of pins and pops off? Do the brackets for the backrest tend to dig in to the seat? Any wear marks or holes from the backrest or the brackets?
Flyinfool Posted October 24, 2011 #2 Posted October 24, 2011 Do you have the stock seat? My Venture line backrest does not touch the seat. I do not use the pins to hold mine on. It aint going anywhere on its own.

They are still worth getting. Mine stays on even with a passenger. No pins (that I know of) but it is a quick and easy removal. Yes it can be done, but pack a lunch....

Freebird Posted October 25, 2011 #12 Posted October 25, 2011 OK then...I can do it in 1/2 second. Actually, I have a Corbin seat on the '99 and long ago removed the one screw that holds the backrest in. So, it just pulls right out. No reason for it to be bolted in that I know of.
