Yammer Dan Posted January 7, 2012 Author #101 Posted January 7, 2012 I may have pushed a little too much tonight. Those that know my legs or leg will understand I have been avoiding working them much. Something in my little brain got mad at them tonight so I hit the leg press machine starting with only 90 lbs. All well and good so far. I don't know what got into me but I topped out at several sets of 340 lbs!!! I'm going to pay for that tonight.....
KIC Posted January 7, 2012 #102 Posted January 7, 2012 Dang it Dan ...my legs hurt already...guess ill rest tomorow....
Yammer Dan Posted January 7, 2012 Author #103 Posted January 7, 2012 Couple of these little pills and I'll be fine....Doc just takes one look at my leg and hands me script.
Yammer Dan Posted January 7, 2012 Author #104 Posted January 7, 2012 Paying for it this morning. Neither leg wants to move!!!
KIC Posted January 8, 2012 #105 Posted January 8, 2012 If you have never tried Celebrex..try it ! It is the wonder drug for me...non-narcotic ( 1st Genners don't need the heavy duty stuff) anti-inflammatory. If the pain is heavy you can take Tramadol with it. But try the Celebrex ! It makes me able to
Yammer Dan Posted January 8, 2012 Author #106 Posted January 8, 2012 After my accidents I got a cabinet full of pills. Just don't tell my neighbors!!
Yammer Dan Posted January 9, 2012 Author #107 Posted January 9, 2012 Not bad today. Still a little sore. Back again tomorrow. I think I'll lighten up on the legs a little but was shocked I could do that much!
KIC Posted January 9, 2012 #108 Posted January 9, 2012 My wife says you need to step it up... I still weigh the same ....
Zfrebird4 Posted January 9, 2012 #109 Posted January 9, 2012 I have two artificial knees now that do great as long as I ride and /or go to the gym. I used their prof consultant to set me up on weight machines, to get precise measurements. I do about 6-8 machines 2/3 times a week. I find the key is to do the reps with LESS weight, but the same reps when I've been sore. I also use:lightbulb: BIOFREEZE that keeps my body, and especially my neck (2 whip lashes in 1965-66 are catching up with me) ... and the BIOF keeps me hopeful. Keep up :fingers-crossed-emothe good work. Have more sex, too; that helps you forget:cool10: the sore muscles. Get your Dr to write a prescription for that, too. Jack T
Yammer Dan Posted January 9, 2012 Author #110 Posted January 9, 2012 Thanks Jack. I do have the Bio Freeze. It is great stuff. I'm not going to stop on legs but Ishouldn't have pushed the weight like that. I passed the other info on to the Warden and she said it could make my hands sore???
Yammer Dan Posted January 9, 2012 Author #111 Posted January 9, 2012 Anybody know anything about this? On the days that I work out I don't eat anything until I come back from the gym. I know you shouldn't work out on a full stomach according to Arnold. But is this good or bad. I go to the gym hungry almost every time. Just wondering...
Yammer Dan Posted January 11, 2012 Author #113 Posted January 11, 2012 Paid for it today. Back to the handicap buggies at Wally world! Its not my leg but my foot that is hurting so much. Leg where it was crushed so bad seems to be doing great. Foot from 2nd accident is another thing.
playboy Posted January 11, 2012 #114 Posted January 11, 2012 Guess KIC is paying for it too. Don't let him drag you down Dan my bet is he won't be able to hang with you.
KIC Posted January 11, 2012 #115 Posted January 11, 2012 Hang in there Dan. I am eating enough for both of us. Since I am exercising vicariously through you, you can enjoy the eating portion vicariously through me. Just so you know, We had General Tso's Chicken last night and Subway Beef Steak Sub tonight. You know, this is gonna work out just fine.
KIC Posted January 11, 2012 #116 Posted January 11, 2012 Guess KIC is paying for it too. Don't let him drag you down Dan my bet is he won't be able to hang with you. I'm a 1st Genner.... I can hang in there with another 1st Genner. :cool10:It's the 2nd Genner's that you would have to worry about keeping up... ...Oh wait..your one of those......
playboy Posted January 11, 2012 #117 Posted January 11, 2012 Hey don't get personal I had a diet drink with my steak and french fries last night. Thank you very much wife said Coors Light wasn't diet but I beg to differ.
Yammer Dan Posted January 11, 2012 Author #118 Posted January 11, 2012 Today is a gym day. Leg says no but.....Maybe leg is right??
Yammer Dan Posted January 11, 2012 Author #119 Posted January 11, 2012 Stayed very light on the legs tonight.
FROG MAN Posted January 11, 2012 #120 Posted January 11, 2012 Just done a exhausting arm curl workout. Plate,mouth,drink,....plate,mouth,drink, etc. Then a fast sprint to the kitchen for more.
Yammer Dan Posted January 12, 2012 Author #121 Posted January 12, 2012 Yep I'm doing that one now!! Wardens Beef Stew. Mostly beef and taters!! Great diet food!! I heard some hints of challenges when I started this??? Got awful quiet.
Yammer Dan Posted January 13, 2012 Author #122 Posted January 13, 2012 Very light workout tonight. Been doning Mon,Wed & Fri. Thinking about upping that. Maybe 5 days a week.
Flyinfool Posted January 13, 2012 #123 Posted January 13, 2012 I had a pretty heavy workout last night. I went out and shoveled the great white death, all 2 inches of it. Then I came in the house and did a ton of reps doing arm curls. I must have gone thru at least a quart of ice cream doing those arm curls.
Yammer Dan Posted January 13, 2012 Author #124 Posted January 13, 2012 Rethought that this morning. I could cut it down to one day!!:whistling:
KIC Posted January 13, 2012 #125 Posted January 13, 2012 Rethought that this morning. I could cut it down to one day!!:whistling: Yea..well thanks ! You obviously aren't working hard enough for me to enjoy and reap the benefits vicariously through your work-outs. As much as I have enjoyed it, and tried to allow you to enjoy my eating habits vicariously through me, my wife informed me that we will be playing tennis at least 2 times weekly and taking longer walks etc on other nights. Oh yea..did I mention the change in diet to more veggies and "healthier" stuff. My life sucks.
