calgaryrider Posted October 16, 2011 #1 Posted October 16, 2011 Trying to change plugs on my '88 VR but can't get the socket into left front and right rear heads. The coolant line clips are creating just enough interference were I can't get the socket to go in straight (zero tolerence ) . Tried to move the clips, got them broken loose but won't slide up the hose. any ideas? thnx Markus
bongobobny Posted October 16, 2011 #2 Posted October 16, 2011 Thin walled socket and a u-joint should help! The stock spark plug wrench in your tool kit, if you still have it, should work out. Try using some PB Blaster on the clips to loosen them up some...
calgaryrider Posted October 16, 2011 Author #3 Posted October 16, 2011 Gotta love WD40 a little juice, couple skinned knuckles and muttering got the clips moved up. after that pulled plugs easy. Put anti-sieze and di-electric grease on new plugs and installed, caps on and bike starts great. Let it warm up and....:shock3: FORGOT TO SLIDE COOLANT HOSE CLIPS DOWN! Now waiting for it to cool down and fix my oops.:bang head:
