Venturous Randy Posted October 15, 2011 #1 Posted October 15, 2011 It is hard to believe this movie is the same age as my 83 Venture. Not much into spooky movies, but being a car guy, this one was interesting. It is about a 58 Plymouth. RandyA
etcswjoe Posted October 15, 2011 #2 Posted October 15, 2011 I always thought that was a hilarious movie.
Yammer Dan Posted October 15, 2011 #3 Posted October 15, 2011 I liked it. My first car was a 59 Plymouth.
Eck Posted October 16, 2011 #4 Posted October 16, 2011 I have watched that movie several times, and just finished watching it again. It's different... Have you ever watched the movie RATH........ ?
Venturous Randy Posted October 16, 2011 Author #5 Posted October 16, 2011 I wonder how many 58 Plymouths they used making this movie? RandyA
Venturous Randy Posted October 16, 2011 Author #6 Posted October 16, 2011 I have watched that movie several times, and just finished watching it again. It's different... Have you ever watched the movie RATH........ ? Never heard of it. RandyA

Venturous Randy Posted October 16, 2011 Author #8 Posted October 16, 2011 Ops...it was called RAITH http://www.thewraithcar.com/ http://www.allpar.com/cars/concepts/wraith-M4S.html Eck, do you mean Wraith? RandyA
FuzzyRSTD Posted October 16, 2011 #9 Posted October 16, 2011 Very good movie. I liked it a lot, neat movie. I did not see it being hilarious though, I don,t get that. Now the car show with David Hasselhof called "Night Rider", that show was rather funny sometimes. The car was called Kit. Never saw the Wraith movie though, or heard of it. Fuzzy
darthandy Posted October 16, 2011 #10 Posted October 16, 2011 I wonder how many 58 Plymouths they used making this movie? RandyA According to the IMDB, approximately 25 1957 and 1958 Plymouth Belvederes and Furys were used in making the movie and 13 to 16 of them were destroyed. The '57 and '58 Plymouths were quite similar with the biggest difference being 4 headlights on the '58 as opposed to 2 headlights and 2 "running lights" on the '57. It was really easy to make a '57 look like a '58. The external differences between Belvederes and Furys (Furies?) was mostly in chrome trim and paint jobs. Andy
bongobobny Posted October 16, 2011 #11 Posted October 16, 2011 Yah! That movie was camp! Always loved late 50's Mopar, had a '57 Dodge D500 I wish I still had even though one side was caved in slightly. Reminds me of another schlock movie from the same time era called "The Car" Beep bipbipbip Beep...
Caveman Posted October 16, 2011 #13 Posted October 16, 2011 I liked the movie "The Car" looks like an old modified Lincoln.
bongobobny Posted October 16, 2011 #14 Posted October 16, 2011 Yes, as a matter of fact it was a Lincoln MK3 customized by George Barris himself, creator of the original Batmobile and the Munster's hot rod to name a few. The car is now in someone's private collection...
