muaymendez1 Posted October 18, 2011 Author #26 Posted October 18, 2011 No Star Touring is internationa,l. update I contacted another chapter by email. I was told to plase have a talk with the president because the chapterin question never exhibits this type of behavior. I received a pleasant call from the president of the chapter in question and he was ok with me looking for another chapter but wanted insightas to what happened because he wanted it to stop. he wouldnt stand for any unsafe behaivior. Afyer our conversation he welcomed me to search another chapter but also asked if I could give them one more chance to redeem themseklves. The leader of that ride never leads and in his opinion.....ell I rather just leave it at that. I will attend a different chapter meeting and ride an d again with the chapter in question. even if I choose not to link up with them I would like achance too se if they are different. Jose
myminpins Posted October 18, 2011 #27 Posted October 18, 2011 Well, if it's international, I don't believe there are any chapters in this province. I've not heard of it before and we have many bike clubs around here.

myminpins Posted October 18, 2011 #29 Posted October 18, 2011 Thanks, Freebird. As I expected, no Nova Scotia chapter. Thanks for the link.

Jose Just so you know, you don't need your local Chapter President's permission to seek out another chapter. Also, if you join STAR Touring you don't have to join a chapter. In fact, as a STAR member with no chapter affiliation you are a "member at large" and can ride with any chapter on any "official chapter rides" and can participate in any "official chapter events and meetings". You just can't vote in any chapter.
Sylvester Posted October 18, 2011 #31 Posted October 18, 2011 Thanks, Freebird. As I expected, no Nova Scotia chapter. Thanks for the link. If you have enough interested riders, you could start your own STAR chapter. Go to the STAR web site and click on "I wanna start a chapter". From there you will get all you need. I have been involved with starting numerous chapters in my role as State Director. In two years the chapters in NC doubled. Very good bunch of folks in this state and all the others.
