Thanks Rick. I also posted to my Facebook. Hope this opens a few eyes, if you know what I mean. The family of these three will have to live with this always.

Hope everybody caught the words: 85mph. I don't condone any cell phone talking while driving, but then 85 mph is an accident waiting to happen as well. I'd say that fault was equally shared to a degree.

It seems to me that I've seen that picture, or one like it, a few years back with a similar story. But it was later found to be a fake. If I remember right it was put together as a graphic example of what could happen. Or something like that anyway. But in either case, there's no doubt in my mind that something like that could actually happen. I'm kind of having a bit of a hard time believing that is the real deal without having blood and bits of people nowhere to be seen. I don't care how good a job you do, you could never get it all.

But more to there point, when people make poor decisions, things can get grisly in no time flat.

According to Snopes the accident happened in 2003 when the car turned left in front of the bike. They say that there is no mention in any of the local newspapers of anyone being on a cell phone or the speed of the motorcycle. It seems those details may have been added by somewhat trying to further sensationalize the accident.

Here's the link to the Snopes story:
