Not the kind of cruising I am used to, we are finally going on a Caribbean cruise, well not exactly the cruise I wanted, which was an Alaskan cruise, but a cruise to test the waters to see if we like it. We are booked on the Carnival Conquest for a 7 day cruise. Many thanks to Eck and the members that contributed to the cause (cruise) at Vogel. It didnt quite cover all of it, but it helped. Thanks again to all, and especially Eck. In doing so he also assured that there will be more Vogel's to come, I don't know what ever gave him the idea that there wouldn't be................:think:. We will be leaving out of New Orleans Feb 12, and when we get back it will be Mardi Gras, we might even extend our vacation by a couple of days for that.

We love Carnival, going ourselves for Christmas. If this is your first cruise, you probably have a departure time of roughly 4:00pm, you can get on the boat earlier and enjoy lunch and all the ship has to offer for the day of departure. Also, you can order more than 1 dinner at the sit down dinner. Ask me how I know.

A cruise is what got me back on a motorcycle after 20+ years off.

Laura and I went on a cruise to the Bahamas in 95 and while there we booked a snorkeling trip. When we met up at the designated spot, we were told it had been canceled. So, we are standing there looking around and there was a guy there with a row of Honda scooters and we decided to try one out. It was a bit nerve racking being back on a bike and especially driving on the "wrong" side of the road. We had a blast and ended up renting another one the next day. It was great getting off the usual tourist strip and eating in restaurants where the locals ate, which were not only cheaper, but better.

When we got back, I bought a Yamaha 850 special with hard bags and a windshield and then my 83 Venture.

I hope you enjoy your cruise.
