ediddy Posted September 30, 2011 #1 Posted September 30, 2011 Do you have to remove the tires from the bike to balance them?
darthandy Posted September 30, 2011 #2 Posted September 30, 2011 (edited) I assume you mean removing the wheel with the tire on it and the answer is yes. The wheel and tire can be statically or dynamically balanced (Depending on what equipment is available). If you check out the various tire threads on this forum you will run across products that can be added to the tires to balance them "automatically" as they roll...Dyna Beads for instance. This is a cheaper and easier way to do it and does not require the removal of the wheel and tire. Several members have used such products and are quite happy with them. Good luck And just for the record, questions are only dumb when they are not asked, so this was a smart question! Andy Edited September 30, 2011 by darthandy Forgot a comment
Sylvester Posted September 30, 2011 #3 Posted September 30, 2011 If you use Dyna Beads, like me, then you need to remove the balance weights from the wheel.
ediddy Posted September 30, 2011 Author #4 Posted September 30, 2011 Thanks for the replies. The reason I asked is I had two new venoms installed on 9/7. This morning as I was walking to the garage I saw the tire weight on the ground. I haven't had a chance to see if it came off the front or rear tire.
Yammer Dan Posted September 30, 2011 #5 Posted September 30, 2011 If you are real lucky you might be able to see where it was on the wheel. I'm not real lucky. As a matter of fact if it weren't for bad luck.......
