Ok, picked up the bike after my 600 mile service. Ended up riding in the rain and had my helmet on, my intercom or radio was squeeling off and on in my helmet. I have ridden in the rain before and it didn't do that. When I stopped and switched to speaker speakers sounded ok but it was still squeeling in the helmet . I unplugged and plugged into the rear, no squeel. Tried my wife's dry helmet and ended up with the same result.

Wet contact in the plug shorting out?

I found with my lower headset cord that if I moved the cable by the plug a certain way I'd get a squeel. Had J&M replace the cord and no more squeel.

I have had squealing like that when there was nothing plugged into the rear connector and the intercom volume was turned up. Turning the volume on the IC to zero when I have no passenger clears it up.

I pulled the faring apart to put on a passing light kit. While she was open I put dielectric grease in the seals of the boots. After sitting overnight the squeel went away.

Dido on the IC volume. If mine is too high and nothing plugged into the rear it will pierce my eardrums. It stops as soon as I turn it down to 9 or 10.

Ditto on the IC volume and the rear headset. Reducing IC volume when nothing is plugged in normally solves it.

I did find that dielectric grease on the plugs under the fairing helped a little but the cleaning the ground wire on the back of the Radio unit and down at the frame stopped it for a few months. (this is a flat braided wire in a plastic tube)
