We took a fall colour ride through Ontario's Algonquin Park on Saturday. The colours are almost at their peaks.

I was in the same area this weekend. Men's retreat just south of Dorset. Today I ran south on 35 and west on 118. It was AMAZING... didn't have my camera with me though...

i would come along, if any one plans to go see fall colors this coming week end...or even on a week day....:confused24:
If I am able to go this weekend (weather and wife permitting) I will get in touch. I have not ridden to the muskoka area yet this year and really wish to.

I didnt realize that you guys in Ont were into fall colours already. We are still a bit of time away from that, but we still dont get the intensive colours that the maples give you guys in the east.

With all the summer temps here we are still almost full green, only a couple of patches of colour. I took these pics on Sunday 25th morning.

We are a little bit behind you...not full colours yet...but LOOKING GOOD!

I think the colours are early because of stress....it's been a dry summer around here.

I"m going to be riding to Rochester ....probably next week sometime and I'm really looking forward to it!

I just gotta get the Class working now! But that's a different thread.

I drive through the Muskoka area yesterday and was surprised to see how much less foliage colour there was from a week or so ago. Most of the bright red colour was gone and many trees had lost most of their leaves already. I think the foliage season was unusually early this year due to local weather conditions. Anyway, that is what I saw.

Yes, I was through the Muskokas today and the colours there are amazing. I don't think I have seen them any brighter.

Evan! Check out this thread http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=60487 would love any input you may have.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner Ben but I just now saw your post. Anyway, I have only travelled # 11 to lake Nipissing lately so I can't offer any good feedback on the conditions along the CAA routes off # 11. However, I suspect the colours there are also past their peek although I am sure it wold be a good ride.

Fall foliage colour in Algonquin Park has peaked. Heavy rain and some snow this week has increased leaf fall showing bare branches in the canopy especially in the western portion of the Highway 60 Corridor. Fall colour in the eastern portion of the Highway 60 Corridor and much of the later changing sections of the Park is still good. Red, orange and yellow are the dominant colours remaining in tree canopy. Good fall landscape viewing is currently possible and is expected to continue unless the Park receives extremely heavy rain, snow, or strong winds which might cause widespread leaf fall. See the latest fall colour images on Facebook.
