jrb Posted September 15, 2011 #1 Posted September 15, 2011 I changed the clutch basket and now the clutch lever will not depress, it's hard as a rock. Anyone else have this and what should I do.
wes0778 Posted September 15, 2011 #2 Posted September 15, 2011 Not sure exactly what's hanging up, but I suspect you need to go back into the clutch. There is something out of place. I'll be into my clutch this weekend. I have Skydoc's upgrade kit on order.
Yammer Dan Posted September 15, 2011 #3 Posted September 15, 2011 Didn't line things up right in the basket.
Yammer Dan Posted September 15, 2011 #4 Posted September 15, 2011 I think it is in the manual not sure where. Chapter 3 pg 50

Another is that you may have some extra parts in there... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=52454 Check out post #14
jrb Posted September 15, 2011 Author #6 Posted September 15, 2011 The clutch lever will not even move when the clutch basket is not installed. I do not recall touching the lever when things were apart but maybe I did. Could this be my problem.
Marcarl Posted September 15, 2011 #7 Posted September 15, 2011 You got the thrust washer in the wrong place I bet.
Condor Posted September 15, 2011 #8 Posted September 15, 2011 (edited) You're gonna have to remove the basket again and check assembly. Check that the push rods are moving correctly by gently squeezing the lever and keeping a finger on the rods. The pressure plate may not be installed right. It only fits one way. Keep rotating it untill it seats down on the discs.... Bet that takes care of you problem.... Don't ask me how I know that.... Unless you get spring resistence from the clutch pack pressue plate to return the fluid into the master the slave will bottom out to max and then not go anywhere. Check the pressure plate...
straycatt Posted September 16, 2011 #11 Posted September 16, 2011 I had this same problem when I did my I basket. I just took it back apart and reassebled it and it worked right. Never did figure out what I did wrong the first time.
jrb Posted September 17, 2011 Author #12 Posted September 17, 2011 I have the clutch basket all back together, the clutch lever wokrs good now. New issue, The clutch is not disengaging far enough, when I put it in gear with the lever depressed it lurches forward and dies.

Marcarl Posted September 17, 2011 #14 Posted September 17, 2011 Did you pull the shaft out and loose the ball bearing?
jrb Posted September 17, 2011 Author #15 Posted September 17, 2011 I am getting no air from the bleed screw and I checked the ball bearing is still in the hole. Really frustrated.
