fixit3546 Posted September 11, 2011 #1 Posted September 11, 2011 Does anyone have an identification diagram for the wires going to the cassette deck? I want to eliminate the one on the 88 but the radio wont play without it. Any ideas. seems like i have seen this in the past but i cant find it.
dingy Posted September 11, 2011 #2 Posted September 11, 2011 Not sure if this is what you need, but here is something. Gary
friesman Posted September 11, 2011 #3 Posted September 11, 2011 I think Scotts info here on his website under Ipod hookups might help you out.....and give you a chuckle at the same time. muffinman Posted September 11, 2011 #4 Posted September 11, 2011 If you jumper pins 1 and 7 the radio will work without the casette deck I use a female flat blade connector to do this just be sure to insulate the connector so it doesnt ground out. Jeff

fixit3546 Posted September 12, 2011 Author #9 Posted September 12, 2011 Heres pics of my stock radio without cassette. Looks good, I have already cut that piece that mounts the player off. the CDI box fits in there better with it off.
utadventure Posted September 12, 2011 #10 Posted September 12, 2011 I have done this mod and it works great. Something I learned by accident, if you attach an IPOD and forget the flip the switch, the sound still overrides the radio and comes out the headset. Dave
Geobob Posted July 30, 2015 #11 Posted July 30, 2015 The switch part number in the original post is a momentary switch I don't see as being the correct one. I ordered it and now have to exchange it for the correct Mouser Electronics part number 611-7401P3YZQE. I have not completed to project yet but I did order the two Din PLUGS from digikey.com CP-1380-ND and CP-3180-ND. I could not find the original post again but there was some question on the wiring. I am going with this wiring diagram. I put my trust in anyone that can build a Vmax Venture.
Geobob Posted July 31, 2015 #12 Posted July 31, 2015 So actually what I ordered from the other post was a 4 circuit switch and we appear to need a 5 circuit switch. That part number I don't have and I don't see on the Mouser site. Any suggestions.
