clock resets

I have an 05 venture. When I set the clock to the correct time and turn the ignition switch off the clock resets to 1:00. It has never done this before. Any suggestions how to correct this?

Usually there is a power supply line to the clock that goes directly to the battery (doesn't go through the ignition). Likely you have a blown fuse on that line.

Have a load test done on your battery. Mine was doing the same thing and the battery was going bad. It still started the scooter but would reset the clock.

Your problem is a blown "Backup" fuse in the main fuse box under the left battery cover.

Hold down both buttons where you change your trip meter the clock will come up.

I think they should have made the numbers half as small cause they are just too easy to read! Not!

Like radio station presets it is one of those things I have to look up myself when I disconnect the battery and have to reset them.

 

My local O'Reilly's Auto filled me in on how to avoid the clock/radio resetting when changing batteries. Hook up another battery with jumper cables (or a battery charger) to the battery cables. Disconnect the battery cables, change battery, reconnect cables, remove other battery.

 

I did this on my wife's truck using the jumper points (seperate clamping locations for connecting jumper cables) and it worked great.

A 9 volt battery on a cig lighter plug with the key left turned on while the battery is changed works as well. Just remember, tip is positive on the cig lighter plug.

Just hold down the "select" button for at least 2 seconds to bring up the clock. Hold down both "select" and "reset" buttons for at least 2 seconds to set or reset the clock. So simple a caveman can do it!!

Thanks for the help. I had a blown 5 amp fuse located in the cowling and like V7goose said the backup fuse at the left side cover was blown.
