Well, at long last the first game of week 1 will begin at 8:30 pm ET.

This is going to be a "must see" game as it pares the last two Superbowl Champions against one another...

Personally, I'm for the Saints (still PO about the Steelers giving the game away to the Packers earlier this year), and, I like Drew Brees style.

The other great game, is this Sunday at 1 pm ET. Hey, whenever the Ravens and Steelers play "it's all good!":Avatars_Gee_George: Rough and tumble...

Well... Can anyone else suggest other games that would be good to watch? or pick the winners of this, week 1 regular season?

Come on, Bring it!

well my thoughts are before long the NFL will have to be added to the list, thats right the list=religon, polatics and now the NFL. poor little babies had a lock out but got their butts patted so all is well now. i was hopeing for a walk out so they could work for a living and realy appricate their true fans. $2,990.00 for the cheapest seat at the super bowl, wow. guess the regular fans are good enough for the whole season but for the super bowl only the elect get to go.dont get me wrong i loved football and watched most of the games last year and even took monday off so i could watch the super bowl, not so much now.

I don't think it'll ever get that bad. Although i use to like baseball i only actually ever went to 5 or 6 games. Wasn't because of cost, it was because i get a much better view on my TV than i ever could at the stadium, plus i dont get rained on...and my beer is about .60 cents a can instead of $5...LOL

As far as the pay goes, they deserve whatever they can negoiate as the life expectancy of most of these players are "Very Short lived" indeed.

Well Said Mark.:clap2:

Sorry Joe but nobody should earn over a mil a year. My job had a few risks but I knew what they were when I took the job. And I sure didn't make anything like that. I have about given up on pro ball because of the money game. Still watch some but nowhere near what I used to. GO REDSKINS!!! College ball is another thing. My Mountaineers are unbeaten and I think have a chance of staying that way.

Yammer Dan, and how much does the coach at WVU make?

There is money in "all sports" (most of it, you and I, will never know about)

If you want to take the money out of the game (do you?)

ONLY ALLOW colleges and Pro teams, to recruit people born and raised in their state...

That way they couldn't buy talent...........

You are right Joe and I probally don't want to know. I think college players should get a little for what they do but I said a little. I consider Pro salaries "Stupid Money" I'm not stupid enough to support them any more than I do reguardless of what goose claims.

Yammer Dan, Thats how i feel also... yet another reason not to get stadium seats as they are outrageous!

Forget the pros..a bunch of overpaid crybabies playing a kids game. If you want to watch real football played for the love of the game....check out your local high school games...It costs $7 here in the Creek and it is worth every penny. Getout and support your local high school on Friday nights....that's where I'll be until the weekend of champions which is the state championship games....GO GATORS....Goose Creek Gators that is....

Geaux Saints..

I have been a lifelong Saints fan since their inception into the NFL.

I lived most of my life in Jefferson Parish, La. and went to many a Saints game in old Tulane Stadium (The Sugar Bowl was played there also). and the Superdome. In fact I was at the very first Saints game against the L.A. Rams when John Gilliam ran the opening kickoff back for a touchdown. It went downhill from there. The fist year team practiced at our high school field, and we got to know a lot of the origianl Saints. They will always be my team no matter where I live, besides I could never pull for the Falcons, even though I live just outside Atlanta. A lot of talented players played for the Saints in their losing history, but they always seemed to play better when the Saints traded them away. And now I live here and my Saints are Super Bowl Champs. Who would have figured, I guess my father would be really happy if he were here, he was a big fan win or loose. And no I never was a baghead as some of the fans were called during their losing years.

Geaux Saints!!!!

Sleeper game of the week........Tampa Bay and Detroit. I think both of those teams will be in the thick of things for the playoffs. I cant believe I just typed this, Detroit 3 years ago was a joke. Not Anymore. No I am not a fan of either, unfortunately I am a Broncos fan. As far as football players pay etc. goes, I'd rather see that, than Pro Basketball. At least football is a team orientated sport. Basketball is supposed to be, but pro basketball? Not So Much.......Football at least markets the team, Basketball markets the Individual.

But if they let me in for 10 bucks to see the Redskins whip the Cowgirls I'd go!!:clap2:

Now it has turned political.Throughout history the Redskins have always lost to the Cowgirls. The Redskins need to stay on their Washington DC Reservation.

Always been a Lions fan and will always be a Lions fan. But have always liked the Saints because of Archie Manning, the dude took a licking and kept on ticking. That was one QB that earned his paycheck.
