Condor Posted September 9, 2011 Author #26 Posted September 9, 2011 Come on Condor, fess up. What is the cheapest price for gasoline that you can remember. Heck, I'm not that much younger than you and I can remember buying gas for my 39 Olds for 17 cents a gallon. And I was earning the princely sum of 75 cents and hour. Ah yes. The good old days. Whachu mean younger???
Yammer Dan Posted September 10, 2011 #27 Posted September 10, 2011 I paid 11 & 9/10s cents per Gallon. A gas war in Colorado. I kept my big Buick Invicti full!! This was in 1970.
Rocket Posted September 10, 2011 #28 Posted September 10, 2011 Didn't both of you guys make dino oil personally out of your pet dinosaurs ? Nope, they saddled up & rode them..... :rotf:
Stache Posted September 12, 2011 #29 Posted September 12, 2011 Nope, they saddled up & rode them..... :rotf: That would make the dinosaurs pre-First-Gen? Wow, they must have been REAL FAST....
Rick Haywood Posted September 12, 2011 #30 Posted September 12, 2011 LOL ... in those days we could "cruise" all night long on 2 bucks worth of gas... heck, today it's more like $40 ... or 2,000 percent higher! Now if only my income had increased by that % !!! Hasn't it? I made about $85 a week in 1974 and gas was around 45 cents a gallon. After doing some desciffering I believe my wages have went up more than gas, percentage wise.
