Even here in San Antonio we have wild fires all around us. Camp Bullis was on fire, several times! I live is the subburbs norteast San Antonio and we have lots of open fields around us and even we have our bugout bag or in our case large tupperware container with everything we need should we need to leave STAT. We have about a two week supply of MRE's ready to toss into the our F150.

CAN'T WAIT FOR WINTER!!!

The Bastrop fire is now 50% contained. Burned 1,486 homes. Used 149 fire apparatus, 47 bulldozers, 10 tankers, 4 helicopters, 2 airplanes, 1,200 fire personnel. It's heart warming to see the donations pouring in from around the state. Donations of everything imaginable, from food and drink for the fire fighters on the fire line to "sifter boxes" used by the home owners to sift through the ashes of their homes in hopes of finding any valuables. I love this state, I love it's people. :usa:

The problems I thought I had don't even compare to what others are going through or feeling. My heart goes out to those who have lost their homes and pray that the rain will come soon.

I just can't believe that there are looters trying to gain something by stealing stuff in these areas?

They can try but won't get far. This is TEXAS we are allowed to use deadly force day or night to protect our property burnt or not. Posted signs by the home owners You Steal - We kill I heard one report where "scavengers" were sent on their way under gun fire, don't think they'll be back.
