reddevilmedic Posted September 4, 2011 #1 Posted September 4, 2011 anyone have a writeup on how to add fitting to the hose that attach to the pumps? my class is shot, bike is practically riding on the fender.
Freebird Posted September 5, 2011 #2 Posted September 5, 2011 Are you SURE that's all it is? The '83 models did have a problem with the frame rusting and I've seen more than one break. It does result in it practically riding on the fender.
Yammer Dan Posted September 5, 2011 #3 Posted September 5, 2011 :sign yeah that: Eased one home after this happened and every little bump in the road rear tire would rub.
reddevilmedic Posted September 5, 2011 Author #4 Posted September 5, 2011 i disconnected the compressor chasing a taillight problem. it was showing e4. i resoldered the joints and still nothing. so i unhooked the 2 lines at the compressor and let, what little air there was, out. causing it to drop at front and rear. lowrider style.
Venturous Randy Posted September 5, 2011 #5 Posted September 5, 2011 i so i unhooked the 2 lines at the compressor and let, what little air there was, out. causing it to drop at front and rear. lowrider style. Just out of curosity, how does it set on the side stand and how hard is it to get on the center stand? RandyA
reddevilmedic Posted September 5, 2011 Author #6 Posted September 5, 2011 before, with air in it, leaned a bit too much. high on the center stand. now, with no air, perfect! but its not what i need.
dingy Posted September 5, 2011 #7 Posted September 5, 2011 To answer your original question, you would need at least 2 different lines from a Venture that did not have the CLASS system. Front shocks have a line that runs from the fork tube port to a holder that sits in the ignition pod. Rear shocks have a line that sets in the steering damper housing plate. Not easy finding fittings for these lines, they are kinda unique. I may have a couple of the items you need from my 1200 in its original form. Remind me, I am fairly busy this weekend putting the Ignitech TCI's together. Gary
paysaw Posted September 5, 2011 #8 Posted September 5, 2011 I think you may have a cracked frame. It is hard to see the crack. It does not look like anything untill you take the swing arm off or know what you are looking for. With the 83 I had even with no air it sat fine with the centre and kick stands. It should be rideable with no air.I think the problem showed up when the air system went south. Please keep us posted. It is just a thought.
reddevilmedic Posted September 5, 2011 Author #9 Posted September 5, 2011 the front end did lift up when i moved it around a bit. springs doing their job, i guess. have stock springs. should probably do the progressive springs. but after talking to skydoc, i want different forks to do the r1 brakes, and de link, and stainles, and, and, and ,and........ would be happy with just some air in the thing, so it doesnt bottom out. i looked at the frame closely last night. spent about an hour going over it and didnt see any cracks. southern bike, 32k. sat in a garage with 20 other bike projects for most of its life. the guy had this russian bike with sidecar. the sidecar had a drive axle. 2WD. pretty cool.
reddevilmedic Posted September 6, 2011 Author #10 Posted September 6, 2011 i decided in the best interest of society, and my personal sanity, to take a 27oz california framing hammer to my class controller. didnt help! i remeber someone had a thread about removing the class and hooking up air valves under the passengers butt. any help???
