Rear axle reinstalled wrong?

After replacing my tire on my '83 venture, i think i reinstalled my rear wheel incorrectly. If you are looking at the rear from behind, in which order should the washers go on? When i installed them in the order i thought they came off, the wheel would barely turn. Should there be a washer between the caliper bracket and the swing arm?

At this time i do not have a washer between the swingarm and caliper bracket, but im afraid it may be wrong? It drives fine, but i want to be sure incase the brakepads are missalligned.

That looks to be a newer bike. Since my bike is an '83, would it still be the same?

Heck, I'm sorry. You are right and you DID post your question in the First Gen Tech Talk area. I'm not 100% sure if it's the same or not.

The washer should be between the caliper bracket and the swing arm.

 

Picture is of an 88 setup, but order is the same.

Like i said in my post, i had it that way but when i tightened the wheel, it would barely turn. Thats why im confused. I was thinking maybe i have that washer and the washer next to the wheel reversed.

There is a proper way of doing this. You should read the proper way to install the axle in the post sent to you from Freebird. You should always torque the bolts to their proper torque also. This is good to do, especially if it is your first time doing this. You should also grease the splines and the fingers in the wheel and all the rest while you have your rear wheel off. All in the tech library for this. Should be the same for first Gens. Hope that helps.

did you mix up the washer and the spacer that goes against the wheel bearing at the seal ?
