2WHEELSFORME Posted December 17, 2007 #1 Posted December 17, 2007 Electrical dead. Batt is fine. Power at the main 30 amp fuses but nothing at the dash. Going to the shop tomorrow. Very disapointing, first time I've had to trailer a bike home in six years and 90K plus miles.
Eck Posted December 17, 2007 #2 Posted December 17, 2007 Sorry for your troubles there guy... Please do let us know what the problem is (was), so we can add that to the "things to check for" when a 2nd gen dies out on us...
BuddyRich Posted December 17, 2007 #3 Posted December 17, 2007 Sounds like you lost the ign switch. Good luck.
Eck Posted December 17, 2007 #4 Posted December 17, 2007 Sounds like you lost the ign switch. Good luck. That was my first thought to Buddy....... Could also be a loose connection under the gas tank.. going to the ignition switch...OR ....the kick stand switch was down / KS-switch went bad.. It has my interest since I too have an 05 RSV....Sure want to find out what it was in case it happens to me..
Marcarl Posted December 17, 2007 #5 Posted December 17, 2007 It's probably the weather, much toooooo warm for this time of year.
Bubbajbi Posted December 18, 2007 #6 Posted December 18, 2007 Probably ignition switch. I have a '99 and at only 26k miles, I am already having trouble with the ignition switch. It is kind of a pain in the butt to get off.

boominup Posted December 19, 2007 #8 Posted December 19, 2007 IF IT WAS A FIRST GEN. THAT WOULD NOT HAPPEN.:sign **** happens: If it was a 1st Gen, you'd need someone following you with a trailer to pick up the pieces of plastic falling off. No wonder they are so quick! They don't weigh nuttin after the plastic's all fallen off! BTW has 2nd gear let you down yet??? All kiddin aside, my 83 VR was ONE HELL of a MACHINE!! But I still wouldn't replace my 2nd Gen for anything else! Brian
BradT Posted December 19, 2007 #9 Posted December 19, 2007 When My switch went bad I had a radio and CB power only. BRad
