E-Fishin-C Posted December 18, 2007 #27 Posted December 18, 2007 I'll be right there Don...... When you see me ......all your ailments...... will be gone
James Ardrey Posted December 18, 2007 #28 Posted December 18, 2007 Don I hope you get to feeling better soon. It may have been a coincidence but the last time I got a flu shot about 10yrs ago that winter I seemed to catch about everything that came along including the symptoms you described. I haven't had a flu shot since and haven't had a winter like that since. I haven't heard of any research on this but it is my theory that the flu shot has some weakening effect on the immune system or has some desensifying effect on responding to anything but the flu. I could be completely wrong also. In any case take care of yourself, drink lots of fluids and get much rest.
Yammer Dan Posted December 18, 2007 #29 Posted December 18, 2007 Had a bug myself last week. Lucky I got a chance to work a post where I sat all night. I would rather sit, feel rotten and get paid for it than sit home and feel bad and not get paid. Some good suggestions here Don, flip a coin and try one...
Hugbare Posted December 18, 2007 #30 Posted December 18, 2007 This mess seems to be going around .. Go to the Dr., Get a ZPac, and get well soon ... Not a good time of year to be on the sickly side dude ..
86er Posted December 18, 2007 #31 Posted December 18, 2007 ..................................... Been fighting a cold for a week myself taking plenty of Vitamin C and garlic. If it feels tight in the chest definely go to the Doc. Hey Don, if it feels tight in the chest.....LOOSEN YOUR BRA!!! Seriously, Hope you get feeling better! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_11_12.gifhttp://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_6_25.gif
lateralvibe Posted December 18, 2007 #32 Posted December 18, 2007 Don, I know you travel a lot and It seems that when I spend much time on the road and in different hotels and such I tend to catch those bugs as well. I try to take "Airborne" to ward off as much as possible.(or something similar) Hope you get to feeling better before Chriatmas!!!! Paul
1BigDog Posted December 18, 2007 #33 Posted December 18, 2007 Can we say "151 Rum"????? that'll straighten you right up. I had 1 flu shot in my life and that was the only time I came down with a rampant strain of flu. Never took a shot again...Go figure. Get well soon......
Freebird Posted December 26, 2007 Author #34 Posted December 26, 2007 Well folks....I STILL haven't shaken this thing. I feel better and I think that my lungs and etc. are pretty much back to normal and I'm not running a temperature. It moved into my head though. Severe ear infection for over a week now. Finally did go to the doctor. Taking an antibiotic, as bad as I hate taking them. Almost deaf due to my ears being so plugged up. Anyway, I DO think I'm getting better. Thanks for all the well wishes and hopefully I will be back to normal soon. I mean normal for ME...I realize that "normal" is a relative term.
RJD Posted December 26, 2007 #35 Posted December 26, 2007 just great Don, I think you gave it to me or maybe it was that warm weather in Florida last week. I probably incubated some bug that I took down there with me. Bob
