Freebird Posted December 17, 2007 #1 Posted December 17, 2007 Just wanted to let you all know that though I've not posted much over the past few days, I am keeping up with all thats going on. I caught some sort of winter bug and have been down for a few days. Running a high temperature, congestion, ear infection.....all that goes along with it. Had a flu shot a few weeks ago so don't think it's the flu but something has sure put a whuppin on me. Haven't been to the doctor but may go today....probably not though. I actually think that MAYBE I'm feeling a bit better this morning so hopefully maybe I'm starting to come out of it.

RoadKill Posted December 17, 2007 #6 Posted December 17, 2007 Come on....GO TO THE DR.! I used to be the same way, nearly die before I went. Few years back I changed that thinking and its amazing how much faster I get over things now. So.............JUST DO IT!
BOO Posted December 17, 2007 #8 Posted December 17, 2007 I wish you well, terrible time of the year to be sick and I don't believe the Doctor's can do much for colds but they can give you sometime for the infection and that would probably help. Strange about the Flu shots, I have had only a couple in my life and within about 10 days after have it I get really sick so I don't take them anymore but that's just me, I suggest people not take, it's just a comment. Take care of yourself, Jerry
Guest KitCarson Posted December 17, 2007 #9 Posted December 17, 2007 Hey Don: Unless you have something serious nothing but time helps a bad cold. Go get a bottle of brandy, make some fresh coffee.....fill the cup up with brandy, put in one drop of coffee, after about two of these, you may still be sick, but I bet you will not care!!:rotfl:

Tartan Terror Posted December 17, 2007 #15 Posted December 17, 2007 I think the Irish Whiskey idea. If you make all the bacteria drunk they just may get lost and head for the kidneys and out!!!

eagleeye Posted December 17, 2007 #17 Posted December 17, 2007 Hope ya get this crud out of your system soon Don. I'm torn between the chicken soup and the Brandy. Probably a combinatioin of the two. Steve
Stoutman Posted December 17, 2007 #19 Posted December 17, 2007 Don, sorry you're feeling down. Don't discount the flu though. The flu shot usually coveres only three or four strains the experts predict may be the most common ones to go around. A bit like predicting the number of hurricanes or the timing of earthquakes. There are many strains that are not covered. Here's hoping that your natural defenses bring you back to healthy.
mini-muffin Posted December 17, 2007 #20 Posted December 17, 2007 My daughter said try mucinex. Works great she's used it before. Hope you get all better soon Don. Ya know we worry about you. Oh and stay away from the pond on anything if your taking meds. Margaret
