TARHEEL RIDER Posted September 1, 2011 Share #1 Posted September 1, 2011 I tried to install the Ipod adapter that I got from Pioneer yesterday and could not get it to work. I foolowed the instructions to the "T" but no luck. I reset everything according to the instructions and it still did not recognize it. One thing that also surprised me was when I reinstalled the cd player, that too was not recognized. I did run another cable last winter to move my cd player from the saddlebag to the trunk, and it worked fine all summer. The next thing I did was to split the fairing and hook up the original cable to the saddlebag and, you guessed it....nothing. The audio control works for all the FM and AM, the CB works, the cassette works and the aux plays my Ipod through the connection next to the cassette. I did call Chad about returning it for another adapter and I am still waiting on his response.
XV1100SE Posted September 1, 2011 Share #2 Posted September 1, 2011 If both the cd-player and iPod adapter aren't working then have to look at what is common in the both .... that would have to be the cable connection. Possible it is pinched somewhere or bad connection at the plug in the fairing? With a meter you could test the pins for continuity.
Guest tx2sturgis Posted September 1, 2011 Share #3 Posted September 1, 2011 iPod adapter from Pioneer? Have you got a link or a picture or a website? The easiest way to hookup an iPod is to plug it into the aux jack...or use an FM modulator. But it sounds like you have something entirely different. But it sounds like you have something entirely different. Yamaha has an iSimple adapter that plugs into the c-bus controller in the saddle bag. The iPod (or iPhone) connects to the iSimple adapter. You can move up/down songs using the radio control on the handle bar. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=63049 (with pictures)
BuddyRich Posted September 1, 2011 Share #5 Posted September 1, 2011 I saw that unit but its 178 usd so I think I'll pass and just hook my phone up to the aux.
