saddlebum Posted August 31, 2011 #1 Posted August 31, 2011 An interesting article in the riders plus news letter. I am not sure what to make of it though, because my spidey sense is giving me a bad feeling. http://www.ridersplus.com/articles/news/One_Year_of_Ontario_Auto_Insurance_Reform.php
XV1100SE Posted September 1, 2011 #2 Posted September 1, 2011 Was a well written article but all I can see is rate increases. I can understand why bike insurance is high - one "fender bender" can mean the right-off of a bike. The way they have our insurance structured now with multiple options/choices just makes it more confusing.
phertwo Posted September 1, 2011 #3 Posted September 1, 2011 Yes, very confusing. That article just confused me even more. I feel that even if I max out on my insurance coverage it still probably wouldn't cover everything. I definitely don't want the rates to climb up even more, especially since I am moving to Hamilton this month. Can you believe it, my car insurance jumps $40 a month for just having a Hamilton address. My agent informs me that this is because there is a higher cause of auto insurance fraud in the city, so everyone has to pay for this burden. But at least my bike will only go up $4 a month, otherwise I think I'd have to take the engine out and put pedals on it..
