Whitlow Posted August 27, 2011 #1 Posted August 27, 2011 Well I finished doing the rear tire change it was not bad easier than other bikes I've done. But I must say coming up with a way to get the bike lifted on the jack was the hardest part! I'm going to have to get me or make a lift adapter! New tire and checked the brakes and greased up everything now I'm ready to go!!!!!!!!

Trader Posted August 27, 2011 #3 Posted August 27, 2011 As you saw from all the responses on your other thread....CARBON ONE adaptor with Legs seems to be the way to go.

With the bike on its side stand, place a jack-stand under a hard part (passenger footrest, etc) on the right side. Lever the bike up on this jack-stand and place a second jack-stand under the same hard part on the left side. It is best to have help with a heavy bike . . .
Yammer Dan Posted August 27, 2011 #5 Posted August 27, 2011 I just have the Warden hold it up while I change tire. But she complains. Used the Carbon One thing in Skids garage. It works great!!
flb_78 Posted August 27, 2011 #6 Posted August 27, 2011 I don't know what bike you have, but I can change out the rear tire on my 99 Venture while it is sitting on the center stand.
Whitlow Posted August 27, 2011 Author #7 Posted August 27, 2011 I have an 01 RSV and I could also if I took the rear fender off with out doing that I would like to know how you do it! Reply and tell me how you do it and I don't have a center stand either. Thanks
Sylvester Posted August 27, 2011 #8 Posted August 27, 2011 You can use a center stand and remove the front wheel (lower the front) to get to the rear tire change. I think that the adapter and motorcycle jack is a better way to go. And you can use it for cleaning the bike by lifting it high and sit on your roll around shop chair. I have used the Carbon One many times and it works great. I have the legs but since I ride mostly year round, I have never needed to leave the bike elevated for extended periods of time.
flb_78 Posted August 27, 2011 #9 Posted August 27, 2011 Take the 4 nuts off the final drive and remove it. The tire and wheel will come right out the left side then under the saddlebag mounts.
