Black Owl Posted August 26, 2011 #1 Posted August 26, 2011 Is anyone kicking around the idea of hosting the 2012 International Rally?
DragonRider Posted August 26, 2011 #3 Posted August 26, 2011 Not me, Vogel every other year is tough, doing the International has got to be a really big, big headache...............:starz:
Trader Posted August 26, 2011 #4 Posted August 26, 2011 Hopefully someone will step up and host it near the NE corner of the States....or Southern Ontario??? I would but I don't think we can do much on my 80x100 lot.
SilvrT Posted August 26, 2011 #5 Posted August 26, 2011 Kruis 'n Kootenays is happening in 2012 ... we could always turn it into an International rally .....

Wolf Posted August 27, 2011 #9 Posted August 27, 2011 Squid said he wanted to host it on the BRP......
Squidley Posted August 27, 2011 #10 Posted August 27, 2011 Squid said he wanted to host it on the BRP...... Yessir, and Rob is going to help and find places to stay both camping and motels along the route
Black Owl Posted August 29, 2011 Author #11 Posted August 29, 2011 Still wondering. As those who have put these things together in the past can tell you, the sooner it gets started, the better. So, anyone willing to take the plunge????
sarges46 Posted August 29, 2011 #12 Posted August 29, 2011 My vote would be for Eastern area next year. But that is strictly being greedy on our part. We are planning a month long bike trip to the Maritimes and eastern seaboard. We were hoping the ralley would be out east because of this and then we could kill a couple of birds with one stone.
Wolf Posted August 29, 2011 #13 Posted August 29, 2011 I will be happy to assist if someone wants to do the BRP.
Carbon_One Posted August 29, 2011 #14 Posted August 29, 2011 OK what does BRP stand for? And where that might be? Never was very good at these abbreviations. Larry
Ndiaz Posted August 29, 2011 #15 Posted August 29, 2011 BRP = Blue Ridge Parkway. Nick Diaz Middletown, MD
Condor Posted August 29, 2011 #16 Posted August 29, 2011 (edited) This is just a thought.... but how about Winipeg Ca?? Centralized... cooler...Looks like there's a couple of day rides... Edited August 30, 2011 by Condor
Black Owl Posted August 29, 2011 Author #17 Posted August 29, 2011 Well, that would work for me, as I could stay at my folks place. Maybe some place up around Grand Beach????
Trader Posted August 29, 2011 #18 Posted August 29, 2011 If we just "pick a spot" there a LOTS of places....but don't you need local members to step up and organize, host etc?
Freebird Posted August 29, 2011 #19 Posted August 29, 2011 We will be looking at the options. To be honest, I'm looking more towards the east for next year. Possibly somewhere in West Virginia or even the Northeast like the Vermont area if somebody would step up in that area. There is some fantastic riding in the White Mountains.
RandyR Posted August 29, 2011 #20 Posted August 29, 2011 The West Virginia/Western Maryland/SW PA area has some good riding
StarUmp Posted August 29, 2011 #21 Posted August 29, 2011 Is there a format in place and help available, from previous area's that organized, for hosting? Like average number of hotel rooms needed, average number of people attending, how many rides are needed, vendor list etc. or is it left up to the local group organizing it to start from scratch each year? I guess I should ask is there a "committee" nationally or internationally that oversees all of this or does it fall on one who raises his hand. These may sound like stupid questions, but I'm new to Venture Rider so don't know answers.

Nice way to get to know folks. Put together an International Rally. Piece of cake If this ends up out east, I'll make my vacation accordingly. Going around the Great lakes next year and will try and time it so be able to attend.
dingy Posted August 29, 2011 #23 Posted August 29, 2011 How about Oberlin, Ohio. The infrastructure is in place !! Gary
steamer Posted August 30, 2011 #24 Posted August 30, 2011 does anyone have a count on how many folks attended Cody? I would have to believe if it were held in the east, It would be big.
