GolfVenture Posted August 26, 2011 #1 Posted August 26, 2011 Has anyone tired to repair the 41R Relay? There is a clip at the end that comes off exposing the guts of the Relay. I tried to pull out the board but it will not budging.
BuddyRich Posted August 26, 2011 #2 Posted August 26, 2011 Two things usually happen to the old style relays when they go bad. one the coil shorts or opens. Your not gonna rewind something that small. Another is the contacts get burnt. You might be able to file that but unlikely. Think your better of just looking for a replacement.
Jim Stanfill Posted July 15, 2022 #3 Posted July 15, 2022 cut 1 open and there is nothing inside except a big square black composite rubber block and there are 2 relays in front solded on that board you mentioned no repaired parts inside you can fix sorry!
cowpuc Posted July 15, 2022 #4 Posted July 15, 2022 @GolfVenture, go to Partzilla and get a part number for what your looking for/working on for us. I would be more than happy to look thru my pile of Relays and see if I have one. Here is the page from Partzilla that shows relays for the MK1's.. Any of these what your looking for? https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/yamaha/motorcycle/1983/xvz12tk/electrical-1
