Trailer wiring for Royal Star Tour Deluxe ?

Did not see any other posts for wiring a Royal Star Tour Deluxe here. Never ever done this on a motorcycle before.

 

1. Do I just pick up a standard 4 wire connector for a pick up truck ?

 

2. Does the Royal Star Tour Deluxe (2007) have wiring harness somewhere stashed under seat/something ?

 

3. Does the standard 4 wire trailer wiring work for most trailers and such ?

 

I hope there is a good write up with lots of pictures somewhere on this for me. This is going to be mostly for an extra light accessory for now. We are going to fab (with help from a good friend and brother in the Lord) up a flag holder for the bike to fit my hitch, for PGR trips. Then later I want a trailer.

Wiring the bike for a trailer is a real simple task.

Pick up the connection assembly with isolator. Load it into a saddle bag. Left or right is up to you. Then head north to the Pork in the Pines and we will show you how simple it is to get done.

We have sent many a rider home all wired up .

Heck, they even had their bikes wired for a trailer when they left.

That's what happened to me in Cody. Towed the trailer 1000+ miles without lights, and thanks to Dano I came back with all systems go..... The bike is a 5 wire set up and most MC trailers are also 5, but in some cases on the less expensive trailers are set up with 4. I bought an isolator set up from MCHITCH , but I have heard of all different ways that members have done it, from direct, to using a converter. I'm not sure if the converter does the same thing as an isolator, and even though the iso was more expensive, I figured better safe than sorry. BTW if you go with the MCHITCH set up you do not need the extra wiring adapter... When Dano did mine he went directly from the iso to the bike wiring....

Thanks a bushel men. I will do this later. I have decided to fab the flag holder for two flags. One angled away from the other, allowing me to leave my brake light open and no need for the extra light for now. I will also have the flag holder pipes angled in such a way as not to cover the signal lights.

 

So I will be wiring my hitch next year,Good Lord Willing, at Freebirds Maintenance Day and will appreciate your help/or someone else's then. Appreciate the invite to the Pork In The Pines, I have read a lot about that gathering, sounds nice. However I can not make it. But would love to try and come another time. Thank you very much for your help and time to post to my aid/thread.
