Just felt an earthquake. Felt like someone came up and was pushing on my chair.

Computer monitors were moving.

Not usual in northern Ohio.

Was centered in Virgina, about a 5.8

Very, very strange. I studied geography and tectonic plates and the eastern USA is in the center of a plate, where it's very unusual to have earthquakes. They're usually on the edges of the tectonic plates, such as in California.

Glad no major damage seems to have occurred anywhere. Hope it didn't knock anyone's bike over and break anything!!!

Thank you very much. I had never heard of it. I learned something new today!!:D

Also look up Ramapo fault line since this is most likely the fault line that just moved.

So much learning foe one day, I'll crawl back in my hole now......

I work in DC. My building was evacuated for a little bit. Is it bad that the first thing i did when i got outside was to make sure my bike was ok? It was parked right up against the building.

It was safe.... :)

As a native of California don't tell me about earthquakes. I lived in Pismo Beach when the Selmar quake hit, shuck me out of bed and I was 300 miles away. The east and northeast got what I like to call a minor attention getter.
