myminpins Posted August 23, 2011 Share #10 Posted August 23, 2011 Very, very strange. I studied geography and tectonic plates and the eastern USA is in the center of a plate, where it's very unusual to have earthquakes. They're usually on the edges of the tectonic plates, such as in California. Glad no major damage seems to have occurred anywhere. Hope it didn't knock anyone's bike over and break anything!!! DanOh Posted August 24, 2011 Share #20 Posted August 24, 2011 I work in DC. My building was evacuated for a little bit. Is it bad that the first thing i did when i got outside was to make sure my bike was ok? It was parked right up against the building. It was safe.... ashley9187 Posted August 24, 2011 Share #25 Posted August 24, 2011 As a native of California don't tell me about earthquakes. I lived in Pismo Beach when the Selmar quake hit, shuck me out of bed and I was 300 miles away. The east and northeast got what I like to call a minor attention getter.
