frankc Posted August 22, 2011 #1 Posted August 22, 2011 Good Morning Everyone, I took a 300 mile run this past weekend and somehow lost both of my front seat bolts. Anybody have a quick fix for this? Or do I need to get the OEM replacements! Thanks Frank
Scooter Bob Posted August 22, 2011 #2 Posted August 22, 2011 Take a look in the member classifieds. Seems I heard of someone making thumb screw type replacements? Later, Scooter Bob

wizard Posted August 22, 2011 #4 Posted August 22, 2011 I have not used the seat nuts for quite a while. The seat stays on just fine without them.
Guest tx2sturgis Posted August 22, 2011 #6 Posted August 22, 2011 Good Morning Everyone, I took a 300 mile run this past weekend and somehow lost both of my front seat bolts. On my RSV I have combination nuts holding my riders saddle to the frame....the studs are mounted to the seat base and would be hard to lose.
steamer Posted August 22, 2011 #7 Posted August 22, 2011 1/4-20 nylon wing nuts from lowes or home depot or any hardware store. just cross thread them on. after that they will screw on and off just fine.about 40 cents each.

KeithR Posted August 22, 2011 #9 Posted August 22, 2011 Have a look at this thread Frank. Keith http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=27341&highlight=lost+seat
Eck Posted August 22, 2011 #10 Posted August 22, 2011 You can use just a flat washer and a 2 inch long piece of rubber vaccumm hose on each side...... You can turn the hose to twist it on or off...and it will be very hard to PULL it off.. cheap too..............
Flyinfool Posted August 22, 2011 #11 Posted August 22, 2011 Eat another gallon of ice cream and the seat will stay on just fine.........
midnightsunrider Posted August 23, 2011 #12 Posted August 23, 2011 I haven't used Nuts or anything else on my '99 for a few years. And at just north of 275 I haven't felt the seat move a bit.
marczing Posted August 23, 2011 #13 Posted August 23, 2011 Just looked under my seat to see what you were talking about and damned if mine weren't gone too.....guess I'm going to Lowes too:) Good Morning Everyone, I took a 300 mile run this past weekend and somehow lost both of my front seat bolts. Anybody have a quick fix for this? Or do I need to get the OEM replacements! Thanks Frank
frankc Posted August 24, 2011 Author #14 Posted August 24, 2011 Keith, The drawer knobs worked perfect. I just screwed them over the seat studs and they tapped themselves on.
