pump for forks

Quick question for you gen 2 venture riders. I cannot find it in the owners manual but when you put air in your shocks or forks, which stand is your bike on, center or side? Also my center stand will not take either wheel completely off the ground. Is this a problem?

I just saw that manual is for 2001 - 2004 models. Mine is 1999...I guess it would be the same procedure?

Nothlng on the second gen except the color has changed since it was introduced.
