GolfVenture Posted August 20, 2011 #1 Posted August 20, 2011 What goes on during the "Stand the Flag Line". Is it just what it sounds like. Standing in a line with flags. There is a mission where "Stand the Flag Line" is 5 hours.
Caveman Posted August 20, 2011 #2 Posted August 20, 2011 yep, that's it. On missions that last that long however, there is usuallly someone in the group to relieve you, that is not holding a flag at that time. It works out.. Respectfully, Carl, PGR Rider
jfoster Posted August 20, 2011 #3 Posted August 20, 2011 The ones I've been to especially with 100 degree heat....they usually take a break once the service starts. Then reform towards the end of the service, which isn't to bad. Depending on how the heat affects you, if you need to find a shade don't feel like you can't leave...just give your flag to another member....it's your health. Seen several fall out from the heat to locking their knees. The funeral homes down here are inconsiderate and will schedule the services at the hottest part of the day.
Ryana7769 Posted August 21, 2011 #4 Posted August 21, 2011 They usually tell you to stand for as long as you feel comfortable and then switch out with someone. There are usually enough folks there that you dont have to stand the whole time. P.S. Dark sunglasses help ....you'll figure out why
